Kelly Jackson Davis, APR is the founder and president of Davis Public Relations and Marketing. An accredited public relations professional with more than a decade of experience in communications management, Davis started her agency in July 2004 with the desire to provide clients with the outstanding personal service and attention they can best receive from a smaller firm.

With a public relations career spanning the non-profit, corporate and government sectors, Davis is very well-rounded in all areas of public relations practice. Her specialty areas are strategic public relations planning, branding, community relations, media relations and public policy.

Davis is a past president of the South Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA), which recognized her in 1997 with its “Rookie of the Year Award” and in 2007 with its “W. Thomas Duke Distinguished Public Relations Practitioner of the Year Award.” A national trade publication, PR Week, recognized her as one of its “Top 40 PR Stars Under 40” in 1998. In the past five years alone, her company has been recognized with more than a dozen industry awards, including SCPRSA’s prestigious Best in Show Award. An accredited member (APR) of PRSA, she is the Co-Chair of PRSA’s Section Council and the Immediate Past Chair of PRSA’s Independent Practitioners Alliance, a nationwide network of independent public relations business owners.

Davis received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and a Master of Mass Communications degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she is a frequent guest lecturer for public relations and journalism courses.

Davis’ community service includes positions on the Executive Advisory Committee of Rolling Readers of the Midlands and the Columbia Regional Board for the American Lung Association. She is a 2009 graduate of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbia program.
